Dear Bman,
Tomorrow you are six months old. Where on earth have six months gone. You are the most happy, joyful baby in the world. Your smile is my most favorite site to see. Your daddy and I were talking tonight after you went to sleep. I laid down to go to sleep and your daddy came in to tell me goodnight. I said “I love him.” he said “me too.” and then he said “He deserves all the love in the world.” He’s right. I love how you interact with us now. You laugh and smile and squeal and make really, really high pitched smiley noises for no reason whatsoever.
Your Aunt Gina took these photos. We were just waking up at Nana and Grandpas house. Your favorite time of the day is early morning. You were so smiley and gave some big grins to the camera. What a ham : )
Happy half birthday, Bman. You’ve brought so many people joy unspeakable with your happy disposition and your sweet chubby smile. I am so proud to be your Mommy. I love you so much.

Dear Bman,
I just had to post this photo for you. It’s a few months old and it was taken in the dark. You were still sleeping in your bassinet and I heard you stirring in the middle of the night (or attempting to stir in that swaddle you loved) and when I looked over I saw two big blue eyes and a giant grin on your face. No better site : )
Last night you slept through the night for the first time ever! Go bman go!

Dear Bman,
I’m on an airplane on my way home to you! I spent the week with Aunt Lara and Aunt Gina meeting some amazing people in Pensacola, Atlanta and New York City. These people are making some big things happen. Big dreams!
I hope you always remember you can be ANYTHING in the world you dream! Your daddy and I will support any passion your little heart has.
You spent the week with Nana! She sent me videos and photos all week long that just made my heart sing :) you have learned to scoot off your mat all the way under her coffee table! And she says you have even more blonde hairs on your head!

Dear Bman,
Sometimes I try to think of a way to describe how much I love holding you while you sleep face down on my chest. It’s my favorite thing in the world. This photo is actually from a few months ago but tonight - around 3am, you woke up and I held you that way - you had on little footed Teddy bear jammies - complete with a Teddy bear right smack on your little baby bottom (which you love to position straight up in the air). Your little legs were tucked beneath you and your arms were wrapped around me. And I thought… Being right here… being your Mama… just makes me feel whole. One day when you’re a daddy you’ll know :)

Since I’m confined to my bed (well, I really can’t complain when my day is limited to sleep and baby snuggles!) I thought I’d write something to you I’ve been meaning to post for a while. See, your family is exceptionally good at creating nicknames for you. In fact, we’ve never really counted them all. So here is a list. (And yes, I do plan to share these with any potential girlfriend one day just to see you blush and say “Mooooom…”)
Whammy - this was when we didn’t know if you were a he or a she, just a wee little gummy bear in my belly
Bman - our favorite of course, we wanted your name to start with a B but weren’t quite decided yet. And well, any name that is reminiscent of a super hero is just plain cool.
BLey - just like your Daddy.
Brady Bear - just sweet.
Bwady Wey - this came from Nana and her silly baby talk.
B Dee B Dee Co Co Pop - this came from your Grandma. She used to call your Daddy this when he was a little boy.
Little B - love this one. Your daddy is Big B.
Washmabald Headplease - this one is my absolute favorite (next to Bman). First name: Washmabald, Last name: Headplease. We sing a song about this in the bathtub. I secretly hope you’ll always have a round little bald head. In fact, when you were born, the very first words I heard Dr Irvin say about you during the c-section were “oh my goodness look at that round little bald head!”
Washmablonde Hairplease - the sequel to Washmabald. Were starting to see sprouts of white blonde goodness (they’re all going straight up of course) on that little bald head.
I’m sure I’ll be adding to this as we go!

While you played with Nana while I was in the hospital, you got to try out your new jumper. Judging by the look on your face, you weren’t quite sure what to think…

Dear Bman,
Your mommys in the hospital while you play with Nana. Two days ago I started getting a stomach ache. You and I were at Target so I tried to ignore it. Later that day at home, it started getting worse. Your Daddy was out of town, so I called our friends Aunt Dusty and Aunt Lisa. Aunt Dusty came and picked you and your little suitcase up and took you to play with all the girls at Aunt Lisas house. I saw photos of the girls dancing to Hannah Montana with you. While you played, I took some Advil and a nap hoping to wake up feeling better.
Aunt Dusty brought you home and I was feeling a little better thanks to the advil. You went right to sleep with your new Baby Einstein aquarium on your crib. The sound of running water always puts you to sleep.
At 1am, I woke up and started walking across the house to check on you and immediately hit my knees. I couldn’t stand up because the pain in the lower right side of my belly was so strong. I called your Aunt Dusty and woke her up. She was so sweet and came in the middle of the night to stay with you. Your daddy started driving from West Palm to meet me at the hospital. And your Nana started driving from Pensacola to take over for Aunt Dusty. You played at Aunt Dustys house the rest of the day with Uncle Jeff, Kalleigh and Addi.
Once I got to the emergency room. The doctor did a CAT scan and found that my appendix was in really rough shape. They scheduled an emergency appendectomy and off we went before your daddy could even get here. Once the surgery was over I was able to hug your daddy (gently of course!) He has been here with me while your Nana plays with you. Nana is sending me photos of you to make me feel better. The picture of you eating peaches made me smile. You love solid food and are so good at eating it. You stretch your little neck out as far as you can waving your arms behind you like a little bird.
I haven’t been able to stand yet. Yesterday I remember putting one foot in front of the other with the nurses help and the next thing I knew I had five nurses around me and I was sitting on the floor. My blood pressure got too low when I stood up.
Today it’s raining and I miss you SO much. Hopefully in the next few days I’ll get to kiss your chubby little face!
